P1/2 decided to have a creative afternoon today! We combined what we had learned about Recycling and 3D shapes with our topic, My Local Community. Using recycled materials gathered by staff and parents, we created models of our own homes. We decorated these with scrap paper.
P7A had a great day despite the horrendous weather as they visited the Scottish Parliament last week. The children had in-depth tour and even had a special visit from Maisie’s mum in Primary 6 who works as a lawyer in the Parliament. A huge thanks to her and all the staff for a great day!
Primary 7 recently had a very special visit from our local MP for South Edinburgh, Ian Murray. The Labour MP came in to speak to the children about politics and government as part of our new topic. The children asked some great questions and seem very excited for their new topic.
Thank you very much to Ian for taking time out of his campaign schedule to come and speak to the children.
P1A are thoroughly enjoying their new topic Day and Night. Today we made Night pictures that showed a street in the dark. We had a great discussion of what we can see out our windows at night.
Thank You to everyone who came along to our nursery Burns supper yesterday. We had a fantastic turn out, and it was lovely to see everyone getting involved and joining in the Scottish celebrations.
We have have been very interested in finding out about Robert Burns, and have looked at some of his poems and songs. We were so inspired by all of his hard work that we all became authors and created our own book! Well done everyone!
