Our House, in the Middle of Our Street!

P1/2 decided to have a creative afternoon today! We combined what we had learned about Recycling and 3D shapes with our topic, My Local Community. Using recycled materials gathered by staff and parents, we created models of our own homes. We decorated these with scrap paper.

It was really good to see everyone having fun creating their model! Great work everyone!

A Visit From Ian Murray MP

Primary 7 recently had a very special visit from our local MP for South Edinburgh, Ian Murray. The Labour MP came in to speak to the children about politics and government as part of our new topic. The children asked some great questions and seem very excited for their new topic.

Thank you very much to Ian for taking time out of his campaign schedule to come and speak to the children.

MP Visit

A Hard Day’s Night

P1A are thoroughly enjoying their new topic Day and Night. Today we made Night pictures that showed a street in the dark. We had a great discussion of what we can see out our windows at night.

We combined our learning from last block and used 2D shapes when making our pictures. We needed rectangles, squares, a circle and stars to make our beautiful artwork. Excellent work everyone!

Nursery Burns Supper 2017

Thank You to everyone who came along to our nursery Burns supper yesterday. We had a fantastic turn out, and it was lovely to see everyone getting involved and joining in the Scottish celebrations.

We have have been very interested in finding out about Robert Burns, and have looked at some of his poems and songs. We were so inspired by all of his hard work that we all became authors and created our own book! Well done everyone!
