How do you get to school

The Eco Committee met on Friday and we had a great discussion about the 3 areas that we are focusing on for our next Green Flag. Also we wanted to thank everyone for all their hard work during the Big Pedal, we came 2nd in Edinburgh, which is a fantastic result. This year 45% of us made a journey by bike or scooter. P2B made the most journeys over the 3 weeks so well done to them as well.

We want to know how you get to school, can you complete the poll below, thank you.

The Big Pedal is back and we’re hoping to have another fantastic year at Craigour Park Primary. Remember to bike or scoot as many times as possible between the 2nd and 20th March. If you take part in the Big Pedal this year, one lucky person could WIN a BIKE.

Also we will be having a Bike Breakfast on Friday 6th March from 8am, all you have to do is turn up to school on your bike or scooter and you will get breakfast as well.

Travel Survey

Travel survey – can you spare 10 minutes to support safer journeys?

We aim to support safe and, as far as possible, sustainable travel to school.  To help us to do this we would love to hear from parents and carers about their journey to school.

We would be very grateful if you could spare 10 minutes to click on this link and complete a short travel survey. It should only take 10 minutes and your responses will be kept confidential.

The information will be incorporated into our new Travel Plan alongside the views of the children, gathered by our fabulous Eco Council. We will share this with you in the New Year.  The closing date for the survey is 19th December.

Energy efficient Scotmid

On Friday 3rd October, our Prefects and Ellie were invited to Scotmid to see the new store. Patricia Eddington gave us a guided tour and pointed out all the environmentally friendly parts. We saw where they recycle cardboard, the brain which decides which parts of the store need light and which don’t and the TV at the front which tells us how much energy they are saving. We had a great time and look forward to visiting again soon.
