Craigour Park came out on top, winning the most prestigous award for best ‘School Reading Journey’ because of our work on developing a reading culture across the school.
It was a brilliant day for the adults and children involved and a proud moment for everyone in our school. We’ve had lots of media interest so why not click on the links below and check out the different coverage we have received!
P7A recently had a visit from some students from Edinburgh University as part of the Get Protected programme aimed at increasing awareness of how important it is to protect your brain, especially when cycling. The children appeared to learn lots throughout the workshop so hopefully we see more helmets on heads as they cycle/scoot to school in the morning!
P7A had a great day despite the horrendous weather as they visited the Scottish Parliament last week. The children had in-depth tour and even had a special visit from Maisie’s mum in Primary 6 who works as a lawyer in the Parliament. A huge thanks to her and all the staff for a great day!
Craigour Park recently took part in the final EPSAA Interscholastics event to take place at Meadowbank Stadium. However, we didn’t just go to take part and managed to come back with two silver medals whilst making it through the qualifying rounds in numerous events.
A huge congratulations to all the children who represented the school so well on the day. A special mention must also go to Lizzie (P7A) who won silver in the cricket ball throw and Nathan C. (P7B) who earned a silver in the high jump.
Well done Team Craigour! (And a huge thanks to all of the adults who came along to help and support).
Last Friday some of the elite members of Running Club went a mammoth run that took in the Royal Infirmary, the rope park and Craigmillar Castle before school had even begun. We had an amazing time and had an impromptu dance after coming across a Spanish lady playing some music at the top of the hill. Check it out!
Primary 7 recently had a very special visit from our local MP for South Edinburgh, Ian Murray. The Labour MP came in to speak to the children about politics and government as part of our new topic. The children asked some great questions and seem very excited for their new topic.
Thank you very much to Ian for taking time out of his campaign schedule to come and speak to the children.
