Congratulations to our Star of the Terms for December – March 17.
We had lovely Easter cakes and sweet treats.
Keep up the great work!!!! Well Done we are so proud of you all. SMT
Lots and lots of kids brought scooters to school today as part of our big pedal fortnight.
What a lot of fun!
A great big thank you to Rab Ure our active schools coordinator for setting up all the games and races for us and staying with us all morning.
Well done to all of you who biked or scooted to school this week, especially in the snow on Tuesday! We are currently the second best school in Edinburgh for biking and scooting!!
Next Wednesday we’re going to set up a scooter course. All those kids who bring in their scooter next Wednesday will be able to go out and take part during the day.
Keep scooting and biking!!
In a gap somewhere between Red Nose Day and the Big Pedal lies the Venn Diagram breakfast . . . . .
Thank you to all of you who came and scooted and biked and helped feed the masses.
Thanks also to Sainsburys and Morrisons for donating some of our breakfast.
And finally, thank you to the Ed Sheeran look-a-like for popping in and making an appearance.
The weather tomorrow morning is supposed to be pretty bad, so we’re postponing the Bike and Scooter breakfast until Friday 24th March (this Friday) which is also Red Nose day. Please come from 8am onwards for some bike and scooter fun and games and some free breakfast. If you normally come to running club – please just come and join in with the biking and scooting.
Thank you to everyone who has biked and scooted to school so far this week. You have to be a pretty special person to bike or scoot in the snow (and have pretty special parents who help you too).
This week for Red Nose Day we are running a special competition…guess which member of staff designed the Red Nose! You can buy a P1-P3 sheet, a P4-7 sheet or one of each if you’re feeling brave! 20p a go!
Mrs McHarg, Miss Read, Miss Montgomery, Mrs Jackson, Miss Colmar and Miss Leang designed one of these 6…whose nose is whose?
On the evening of Thursday 11th May at 6:30pm the school will be hosting a dance showcase. As well as the Friday afternoon Hip Hop class, Jane’s Wednesday Gymnastic classes and some High School performers from Live It Dance studios it will also be an opportunity for other children who love to dance to perform in front of an audience.
We are expecting a high number of children who may wish to take part on the 11th May and with a limited amount of time on the night, those children or groups who would like to take part in the showcase will have to audition for a place.
• The auditions will take place on Friday 21st April at 11:00am.
• No audition dance should last longer than 2 minutes.
• Children must come with their music to the audition on CD or as an MP3 on a music device. No Streaming, searching or buffering.
• Any children or groups who wish to take part in the showcase must complete the form below and hand it in to Mr Mowbray by Wednesday 19th April
The audition piece must be well rehearsed and practiced. Although we would like to give everyone 2 minutes to audition, this time may be cut if we have a lot of people wishing to audition.
Some acts will not get through the audition and will not be able to perform at the Showcase. Not passing an audition can be upsetting. Please do not put yourself or your child forward for the audition if you think they are not ready to take part in the process.
Tickets for the showcase will be £1 or £3 for a family. More information about buying tickets will follow shortly.
If you would like to audition please ask Mr Mowbray for a form.
Good Luck & Get Practicing!
